Course Description

This program incorporates factual information on tobacco in a game format. Students will participate in interactive educational activities with hands-on experiences. They will also see a documentary of an individual who suffered medical complications due to tobacco use.

Goal

Students will understand that tobacco negatively impacts individuals, families, and communities.

Objectives:

  • Recognize the short and long-term effects of tobacco use on the health and well-being of both smokers and non-smokers;
  • Describe ways in which the tobacco industry targets youth through the media;
  • Recognize the benefits of tobacco cessation for both youth and adults;
  • Identify themselves as people who have the power to positively influence themselves and others.
