Course Description

A very basic introduction of the reproductive systems and puberty is provided. Three-dimensional models and games are used to reinforce human anatomy, genetics and hygiene.

Goal

Students will appreciate changes that occur during puberty, gain respect for students of the opposite sex, and value the genetic traits they received from their birth parents that make them unique.

Objectives

  • Discuss the beginning of life for living things.
  • Define heredity.
  • Differentiate between recessive and dominant genetic traits.
  • Define puberty.
  • Discuss emotional and physical changes that occur during puberty.
  • Explain changes in hygiene needs that occur at puberty.
  • Illustrate basic anatomy of the reproductive system.
